We are really excited here at Parka because one of our favourite painters of modern times, David Hockney is returning to the Tate Britain to show his most complete exhibition to date.
The show is a retrospective celebration of his career over the past 60 years. It includes over 100 pieces of his work, from sketches from when he was at art school, to his prints, photography, video and the drawings he creates on his iPad.
David describes his exhibition at the Tate to be like spending time with "old friends" and he wanted people to feel "joy" when they left.

Similarly to our ethos and why we are inspired by Hockney is that he embraces change and new technologies to influence his style and ways of working. The fact that he loves to use an iPad to draw is fantastic!
Wendy, womenswear designer at Parka London said: “A Hockney print is an abstract celebration of life. For SS17 we wanted to mirror an element of this with our summer parkas, using pops of bold colour and conversational prints to honour the wonderful experiences that can be made in the beautiful British Summer Time”.
