We've been making traditional parkas for nearly 70 years and like to think we know a thing or two about how to best care for them. Our rich history in the manufacturing of many different coat fabrics means we are well versed when it comes to advising customers how to keep their Parka London jacket looking as good as the day you bought it.
This handy online guide takes you through how to care for your PU raincoat at home - the NAVIGATOR. So let's begin...
WHAT IS PU?
PU stands for Polyurethane which is a waterproof fabric, typically polyester or cotton that has been heat-laminated. PU is often used in the construction of rainwear and typically has a matt finish.
Our NAVIGATOR parka is crafted from hardy PU in 4 different colours, all with a grey, jersey lining.

WHY CHOOSE A PU RAINCOAT?
Aside from being supremely stylish, PU coats are known for their lightweight and breathable characteristics. This makes them ideal for outerwear that needs to be worn in an active capacity as its flexible to work with and will give the wearer the maximum amount of give and stretch. Think long, blusterous walks in the park or city-breaking on foot in a European capital city.
The waterproof nature of PU is designed to be airtight and resist humidity. This will ensure you stay cool and dry when you are going about your day. Our NAVIGATOR parka has an excellently proportioned hood, complete with drawstring toggle to allow you to keep the rain off your head for as long as you need.

One of our favourite qualities of PU is that it doesn't wrinkle when folded and can be neatly compacted down. This is super handy when packing for a weekend away and means you don't need to compromise on space. Simply shake out the NAVIGATOR parka when you reach your destination and it will retain it's original shape.
HOW SHOULD YOU CARE FOR YOUR PU RAINCOAT?
Thanks to the durable properties of PU, moisture is blocked and therefore most marks or stains can often be removed with soap and a soft, wet sponge. We do not advise our PU raincoats be put in a household washing machine.
For stubborn stains you should consult a dry cleaning specialist.
